Jane Eyre: A Co-Dependency Handbook

I mean, seriously. These two (Jane and Mr. Rochester) trip over themselves to revel in both the exultant highs and crushing lows of an admittedly fraught relationship -- one that includes a 20-year age difference, a fairly substantial class divide, and (spoiler alert) a murderous lunatic of a first wife kept in a strait jacket in the attic (!) -- and they drive me crazy.

I don't really like either of them in these courtship passages.

Am I alone in this?
